2. We are happy to provide swatches of fabric to brides so they are able to match other aspects of the big day to their dress colours.
3
.Dress carriers and acid-free paper are not charged as extras. We have heard of some shops suggesting that a bride brings in a duvet cover (!?!) to transport her dress if she does not want to buy a cover.
4. We provide 'emergency repair packs' free with each dress as a bit of insurance for those unforseen accidents that can happen on the big day.
5
. For further piece of mind our designers will give you their personal telephone numbers once you have collected your dress / dresses so that you can contact them in an emergency outside normal opening hours.
6
. The
staff at
Society Brides will never rush your decision. As far as possible, we try not to limit the time you spend when choosing a dress. All too often brides are given strict time constraints when visiting a store. We feel that this is not fair to the bride. If we have a full appointment schedule, we will normally allow you to make more apointments until you are happy that you have spent enough time making your decision.
7. We certainly
do not expect our clients to have to put on gloves and shoe covers as some shops do. This insulting practice (suggesting that clients will make the dresses dirty) has no place in our store. Our sample dresses are cleaned regularly so that you will have a pleasant shopping experience.
8. It
is also important to note that
Society Brides do not believe in the 'hard-sell'
that is sometimes experienced elswhere. Often clients are encouraged to look around other stores
even when they are sure they have found 'the dress', just to be sure.
Michèle says " There is absolutely no point whatsoever in a bride not being completely
satisfied with the dress of her choice. She will not feel confident on the day
of the wedding and it will show".
9. All of our bespoke dresses are made in our own design studio so there are no problems with the supply of a dress that some brides have experienced when dealing with other shops.
10. Children, families and entourages are welcome.
There are many other small ways in which we are different form most other bridal shops and design studios. One or two of these are covered on our
'Frequently Asked Questions' page. The best way to discover just how different we are is, of course, to visit us yourself.
The
Society Brides team consists of couture trained designers and seamstresses
and is led by the award winning fashion designer Michèle
Keffen
( see 'Designers' ). The advantage of having a couture team is that even our off the peg dresses will be altered to
fit the bride in the way the designer originally intended.
